OUR STORY
We are Buried Thunder, a physical theatre company passionate about new work.
We devise original, fantastical work that fuses elements of dance, physical theatre and text. Making work for primarily young adults, we reinvigorate and reimagine archaic tales at risk of being lost or forgotten.
We met at the University of Surrey / Guildford School of Acting where we devised our first piece Bead Upon Golden Bead for the Inter-University Drama Festival in 2017. Our first professional production was a national tour of Our Shore (2019), supported by Farnham Maltings. Since the pandemic we have developed two digital projects and accompanying workshops. Our most recent, Essence (2021), was a digital interactive piece about astrology and identity funded by Arts Council England.
